We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and patient Support Worker to provide individualized support to clients with behavioral and developmental challenges.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting independence, and helping clients participate in meaningful activities both at home and in the community.
What You’ll Do
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support in the client’s home and community.
- Assist with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide medication support as directed and according to the client’s care plan.
- Prepare meals and assist with light household tasks.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Support clients with behavioral and emotional regulation strategies.
- Accompany clients on community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and other activities.
- Support outings that may include interacting with a variety of therapeutic animals.
- Provide transportation when required.
- Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols.
- Communicate with the care team regarding client needs, progress, and concerns.
- Complete required documentation and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior.

- A strong communicator and team player.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing client needs.
- Experienced in home care, healthcare, social services, behavioral support, or community support is considered an asset.
- Training in Positive Behaviour Support and/or Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience or training in positive behaviour strategies, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, or other person-centred behavioral support approaches is also considered an asset.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle are required.
- Ability to provide transportation to clients when required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Satisfactory criminal record/vulnerable sector check and other required screening.
- Ability to provide medical including TB test and vaccine record.
- Ability to complete all required training.
- Able to work 12 hour shifts (mix of days and nights).
